The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Atlantic Council titled Envisioning the Future of Urban Warfare. A panel of experts convened to exchange ideas on how humans have been at war since the beginning of time and what direction they see society headed in. The experts further suggested that in the not-too-distant future most of humanity will live in mega cities, due to overcrowding and conflicts in these cities urban combat will be inevitable. Various aspects of conflict management were explored while panelist offered their sentiments on the wide difference between order and chaos and how it can exist together in close proximity in mega cities where conflict management will be necessary.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by Brookings Institute titled The next generation of Korea experts:  The young and the brave. Young scholars and practitioners gathered to discuss the different generational attitudes toward Korea policy, presented their perspectives on persistent regional and international policy challenges. Many different concerns were expressed from the young experts such as China and the south sea dispute, fishing vessel  limitations and exclusive economic zones. The panel also offered new strategies and analyses on areas of land that are almost completely surrounded by water, and presented ideas to correct unique issues through different forms of technology.

 

Director of Washington D.C Shirazi Foundation Inc. attends United Nation’s Interactive dialogue on women’s leadership in peace and security event titled “The Power of Empowered Women” in Geneva, Switzerland in hopes to engage in productive conversation with women ambassadors, and be able to portray the high level of reliance of religion of Islam on very important role of women in nourishment and application of core changes to the society in every aspect and levels of the society.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies titled Making the Case for Peace: the 2015 Global Peace Index!. Panelist gave a brief description of a report on the effects of the virtuous cycle of positive peace and the way it will increase many aspects of advancement such as  equitable distribution of resources, sound business environments, free flow of information and the acceptance of the rights of others.The panel of experts gave strong recommendations to organizations and participants to extensively explore the field of peace-building and to find new innovative solutions to obtain peace in a world faced with conflict.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event  hosted by CATO Institute titled Going for Broke: Deficits, Debt, and the Entitlement Crisis. A panel of experts  gathered to discuss the condition of the current deficit. Ideas were presented concerning cutting spending in light of rapid growth of the current debt. Each expert offered different analytical perspectives on how to take responsibility and action when it comes to difficult decisions and how to avoid a financial crisis.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Atlantic Council titled A Conversation with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry. This event focused on a larger vision for the creation of what has been referred to as a peaceful neighborhood and securing a safe environment from different  extremist groups. Due to new joint ventured economic connectivity projects that include new gas pipelines with neighboring countries and a major electricity project, Pakistan is currently moving toward positioning itself in its quest for regional peace, security, and enduring development,. The country has plans to act on goals of creating a peaceful environment for its outside investors and citizens. 

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by The  U.S Institute of Peace titled,  4th Biannual PeaceGame: Combatting Extremism’s Contagion. An aggregation of professionals in fields ranging from peacebuilding, conflict resolution and researchers all gathered and attempted to tackle one of the timeliest and challenging issues worldwide: the global rise of radical groups and violent extremism. The coordinators focused on issues concerning the  roots of extremism and violence, the human element  and  why do today’s extremist movements attract recruits worldwide. And over all how can they more effectively both counter this appeal and manage the reintegration of radicalized individuals if and when the conflict is settled.

 

The Shirazi Foundation’s Foreign Policy expert attended an event hosted by the  Embassy of Australia titled: Professor Amin Saikal – “The Middle East: A Zone of Frenemies. An analytical synthesis was presented on the steps and events that take place in which facilitates the rise of extremist groups in the Middle East. The Shirazi Foundation promotes humanitarian causes, stands for the oppressed, and believes that  we should always take human rights into consideration in order to insure the safety of all civilians in countries faced with such turmoil.

 

Shirazi Foundation is proud to attend discussion hosted by Center for Effective Public Management  to explore ideas to improve government performance and efficiency hosted by Brookings Institute.  In an effort to reignite bipartisanship in Congress, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) works closely with his legislative colleagues—particularly the other eight senators who served as chief executives in their states—on a series of proposals that examines government effectiveness and actionable government reforms.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended a conference hosted by Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, “Improving Security Assistance”. An explanation was presented towards the origins of extremism and the  various ramifications of violence that take place due to the malfeasance inside an unstable region. Numerous ideas and recommendations toward abolishing this problem from its roots were also presented in the form of a detailed report.
