In 2014, the unfortunate events of Ferguson Missouri ignited different reactions from both sides of the political spectrum, raising awareness amongst communities in various parts of the country.

In order to understand a conflict better, panelists addressed the broad question of “What do we do now? and How can we transition beyond these tragedies in Ferguson and New York into a robust movement at the local and federal level.  The Shirazi foundation analysts on community interaction participated in  this event to offer its views to panelist on new approaches to securing a peaceful environment inside a community as a whole.

 

Hosted by United States Institute of Peace, Senator Russell Feingold, the U.S. special envoy working to stabilize Africa’s Great Lakes region offers his insights after spending 18 months as the U.S. special envoy for the Great Lakes, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on the prospects for ending the militia violence in the country’s east, and for improving political stability in the Great Lakes region. Shirazi Foundation’s expert on Islamic Politics participated in this educational conference.

 

A key goal of policymakers is to foster transatlantic understanding and collaboration to help promote financial stability and economic growth.

On February 25, the Economic Studies program at Brookings hosted an event featuring Lord Hill, the new European commissioner for financial stability, financial services and capital markets union. Shirazi Foundation sees learning in every aspect important, and emphasizes on the idea that Islam is a religion which covers all aspects of people’s lives.

 

As Democrats are raise questions about the direction of U.S. strategy and Republicans search for a consistent foreign policy vision. The time is ripe to begin thinking about what an alternative U.S. foreign policy should be and the principles behind its successful conduct. Our Foreign Policy expert attended a highly educational event hosted by the Heritage Foundation bringing together foreign policy experts and analyzing ways ahead towards safe and prosperous future.

 

Reading history, and taking lessons from it gives us better tools to view farther, as the struggles of the past some are repeated due to human being’s nature, and others can be eliminated if intelligent lessons are learnt front unfortunate events of the past. Our Islamic Law advisor joined Heritage Foundation’s guests to learn more about Book written by John M. Owen IV titled Confronting Political Islam as he discusses his learnings from studying the past events in variety of governments, and presented his founding in form of six major lessons learned that may help us advance further

 

2014 has been a year of major changes, some regional, and others with global impact. In an Event hosted by the Wilson Center’s Middle East Program, titled: A year in Crisis in the Middle East in 2015, our international relations expert joined an audience of professors, foreign relations critics and students to further more learn about changes from the previous year that may carry to 2015 and its consequences. Marina Ottaway, Robin Wright, Michael Van Dusen, and Shaul Bakhash viewed growth of extremism, necessary policy changes and recommendations for the betterment of our society as a whole.

 

In an Outstanding effort to shed light on Minority Rights of Iraqi citizens and treat of ISIS, Shirazi Foundation’s expert in Minority Rights, participated in an informative event hosted by Wilson Center’s Middle East Program and Global Women’s Leadership Initiative, focusing different means of gathering different avenues of the ISIS treat on Minorities. Number of scholars, and researchers made this event an intellectually rich gathering. Wilson Center’s CEO; Jane Harman, Director of the Middle East Program, Haleh Esfandiari and Iraq’s only Izadi parliament member Vian Dakhil contributed to this multicultural focus on Minority Rights and broader threat of this terrorist organization of innocent men, women and children.

 

Shirazi Foundation has been in the fore front of Women’s Rights. As it is emphasized by religion of Islam, and focused on by Prophet of Islam. Our specialist in Women Rights participated in an event hosted by Wilson Center’s Middle East Program, and discussed this important topic with Co-Chair of the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative, May Rihani.

 

Hosted by the Heritage Foundation, our Economic Law expert participated in an informative event titled, “Tax Reform and Economic Growth,” bringing together experts in this field including Laurence Kotikoff, Professor of Economics, and William Beach, Chief Economist and other researchers. Shirazi Foundation sees it as its duty to be well educated in variety of important topics.
