Hosted by Brookings institution, our adviser on Islamic Banking attended event titled:  “Higher Education Reform:

Affordability, accountability, and value.” considering both factors of people’s pursuanceto further their education to higher levels, and the accountability side of it which deals with the burden of loans, student debt and different aspects of the process individuals go through.  The Shirazi Foundation places furthering education as a high priority in life to assure that the family structure is stable and nurtures well educated individuals that will be positive role models for others.

 

Shirazi Foundation’s Foreign Relation advisor joined the U.S. Institute of Peace on March 10 where USIP hosted a discussion with a delegation from the U.N. panel co-hosted with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Organization Affairs and the Better World Campaign.  The speakers at this event concentrated on the the crisis that the peace keepers have been facing with instability due  to security and safety in various regions.

 

The Shirazi foundation attended the event hosted by  New America Foundation  titled  Digital Humanitarians as the panelist Mr. Meier discussed  digital information sharing via virtual means, and went in depth about use of Data for humanitarian advancement, including Social Media, cyber security, and credibility of identity protection.

 

History plays a very  important role in understanding the past, and utilizing the lessons learnt to advance in the life ahead is another side of the same coin. Hosted by Wilson Center’s “History and Public Policy Program,” our history expert met with Professor Geir Lundestad former director of Norwegian Nobel Institute, following his speech about history of Cold War, opinion of the public in different countries at the time of the war, and touched base on international relations. Understanding different views and perspective is part of daily activities conducted at Shirazi Foundation.

 

Shirazi foundation’s advisor attended event titled : ‘Post-Arbitration Scenarios for the South China Sea Disputes: Continuing Crises or Opportunities for US and Asea’n,’ hosted by the East West Center. This informative event targeted the ongoing differences between China and its neighboring countries over Islands and land ownership.
