The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by United States Institute of Peace titled ‘Journey into Europe’: Conflict, Migration and Religion. Experts presented research through a detailed documentary on the roots of migration of many faiths into Europe. His findings led him to the effect of Islam in Europe throughout history. Experts made mention of the bigotry and scrutiny Muslim face in many European countries due to Media and how media focuses in on one negative message. Experts made recommendations,  to achieve peace amidst the current conditions in Europe  universal Humanism should be embraced.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Atlantic Council titled Confronting Far-Right Extremism in Europe.

Experts covered aspects of the ideal condition for the Far-Right Parties rising trend in Europe. Experts also analysed how the far Right parties over the decade have shifted from using openly racist, bigoted rhetoric to promote  traditions that they have recast along national lines.  An expert panel also discussed the threat to non European Muslim immigrants and how they have become scapegoats for the lost of national values and the threat to certain liberal ideals. Experts covered the recent outbreak of violence in Europe and its affect on religious minorities in the west.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, titled The penultimate curiosity: The interplay of science and religion over 30,000years.

Experts pointed out the enormous amount of resources that has been devoted to preserving ancient artifacts throughout history in a wide range of cultures and why. Two authors in the field of science and religion went into the numerous amount of thinkers who shaped the historical view of science within many religions from Islam to Christianity and the Jewish faith. A lead researcher at the Shirazi Foundation conversed with  the authors  and shared the findings of  an  author and researcher of Northeast Asia who performed a series of experiments observing the physical effect of words, prayers, and environment on the crystalline structure of water.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Wilson Center titled Addressing Loss and Damage: Innovative Climate Finance Solutions. An expert panel examinedpreventative measures to slow down global warming through lowering emissions. Experts covered major world disasters and  mentioned that certain losses can not be recovered such as lives and species but the material damage is fixable. Experts presented findings as to how  the Caribbean – Catastrophe Risk Insurance Project operates at the time of a disaster but agencies such as the aforementioned do not cover all disasters while keeping in mind that the poor amongst us are most affected. Experts also touched on the response mechanism on and international level and the broader development challenges at the time of disasters.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Brookings Institution titled Rep.Mac Thornberry discusses defense acquisition reform proposals. At this event, an expert offered answers as to how congress is now shifting its focus to establishing greater agility in the acquisition system. Experts discussed the effectiveness of reforms and how technology often  moves faster than the reforms which at times can cause the reforms to be unsuccessful. Within the panel  discussion experts covered different aspects of acquisition strategies and how the defence budget links to the acquisition, and  ultimately having a system in place that keeps up with the way the world changes through technology.

 

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Holy Land Peace Fellowship Foundation titled Closing the Gap, Peace Symposium. Experts  focused on the coexistence of the three Abrahamic faiths and brought together members of different organizations from faith leaders to civil society. Experts suggested looking into various ways to properly use each religion to promote peace and to counter acts of bigotry and extremism in society. An expert presented an initiative that engages the youth through leadership training which is aimed to give students access to a variety of academics and professional resources (mentorships, internships, webinar, and conferences. Faith leader also spoke on points of reconciliation between faiths and how to achieve peace through respecting others as members of humanity.

 

As a resource for the general public, the foundation serves people in a vast variety of matters including ( and not limited to ) religious studies, theology school, public library, women center, youth educational classes, and seminars

The Shirazi Foundation attended an  event hosted by The International Political Economy at SAIS titled Policy Interactions: How Power Sector Reforms Shape Renewable Energy Policy in Democracies and Autocracies. An expert professor shared his research on various components of policy in the Power Sector.The speaker explained the various steps that must be taken in policy in order to replace fossil fuel with clean forms of energy, and How consumers will be affected if new forms of energy  are made available.  The speaker also  spoke extensively on how what is called a Feed-In Tariff  operate. A Feed-In Tariff AAA |  is an economic policy created to promote active investment in and production of renewable energy sources. Feed-in tariffs typically make use of long-term agreements and pricing tied to costs of production for renewable energy producers. Experts also analysed  whether some countries are effective with or without reforms in the power sector and which countries in the middle east are transferring to clean energy.
