4th Biannual PeaceGame: Combatting Extremism’s Contagion

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by The  U.S Institute of Peace titled,  4th Biannual PeaceGame: Combatting Extremism’s Contagion. An aggregation of professionals in fields ranging from peacebuilding, conflict resolution and researchers all gathered and attempted to tackle one of the timeliest and challenging issues worldwide: the global rise of radical groups and violent extremism. The coordinators focused on issues concerning the  roots of extremism and violence, the human element  and  why do today’s extremist movements attract recruits worldwide. And over all how can they more effectively both counter this appeal and manage the reintegration of radicalized individuals if and when the conflict is settled.
