Shaky Ground : The Strange Saga of the U.S. Mortgage Giants

The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by New America Foundation titled Shaky Ground : The Strange Saga of the U.S. Mortgage Giants. A panel of expert set forth findings from a book that described how the 30 year fixed rate loans can be used  as a financial instrument. Experts further elaborated as to how in its inception Fannie Mae was a part of the  government until it became privatized. The dangers of the insidious elements in the loan market were also cited and its effects on the global economy.
