The Shirazi Foundation attended an event hosted by the Wilson Center titled How Zika Is Shaping the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Agenda. The experts presented research that the  Zika virus  has been declared an emergency  while preparing for a possible  epidemic. The symptoms that are commonly associated with the virus include  fever, rash, and joint pains. Experts asserted that currently there is no vaccine to cure the Zika Virus, and shared statistics that 3.5 million women are currently in a vulnerable state of being infected with it. Many women in Brazil have quit their jobs to stay home and care for the children affected by  Zika , Which is predicted to extremely impact the country’s economy. Manty experts search for the best way to eliminate the virus from becoming and a global pandemic.
