Advocating Freedom:

 

Freedom of the individual in all issues, as prescribed in the teachings of Islam – such as freedom of expression, freedom of belief, etc. Ayatollah Shirazi sees freedom as the root of progress and prosperity.

 

Peacebuilding:

 

Peace is an essential pillar of the political theory presented and advocated by Ayatollah Shirazi in all his books and studies. Peace is the aim and objective, as well as the means to get to the aim. Ayatollah Shirazi stresses on the fact that the consequence of peace is the safest and best. One must act peacefully in all aspects of life.

 

Mediation and Facilitation

 

Mediation and facilitation are two broad categories of tools used in conflict management, resolution and prevention. For example, a neutral third party can mediate between warring factions and help facilitate meaningful and productive conversations to manage, resolve or prevent conflict from becoming violent.

 

Conflict Analysis and Prevention:

 

The objective is to contribute to effective development and stabilization policies that help manage and prevent conflict. Peace and nonviolence are the essence of Islam and the basis of its teachings. They are in harmony with the spirit of Islam.

 

Post-Conflict Reconstruction:

 

Countries that are emerging out of conflict face multiple challenges – ranging from transitional justice issues, building civil society, writing new constitutions, creating new rule of law systems and security forces as well as rebuilding the domestic economy.

Capacity building, as well as sharing lessons learned and expertise help improve our nation’s ability to prevent, manage and resolve conflicts – and thereby reduce the risks for violent conflict around the world. Training exercises include negotiation, mediation, facilitation and communication, among other peacebuilding skills

 

Political pluralism:

 

Ayatollah Shirazi considers pluralism as a watchdog for the conduct and behavior of the ruling body. It guarantees the sound state of the government. Pluralism is a must for any country that wants to protect a system in which freedom can thrive.
 

Economic Solutions:

 

To ensure equality amongst the citizens, fair economic solutions need to be adopted to all levels of the society. This is a crucial matter for the growth and sustainability of any country. Ayatollah Shirazi offers key points and suggestions based on the Islamic Laws that tie the economic viewpoint and rights of the citizens.

 

Islamic Banking:

 

In order to reduce and eliminate economic instability, inherited from Islamic Law, Ayatollah Shirazi suggests an Islamic banking system with zero interest, where borrowers have maximum financial growth ability at minimum expense.

 

Improve Family Relations:

 Ayatollah Shirazi has key answers to the social problems of today.

 

Peaceful & Healthy Coexistence:

 

Skin color, Ethnicity and background should not prevent one from practicing his rights, pursuing his individual freedom and coexisting with others.

 

Intellectual development:

 

Ayatollah Shirazi views intellectual growth prerequisite or growth in faith and directly linked. In order for a society to grow, its intelligent assets (people) should work cooperatively as institutions and organizations to bring about overall growth.

 

Rights of Individuals:

 

Recognition of Rights of individuals, as members of society or individual human beings, is one of most important avenues to prevent long term collapse of a society.

 

Poverty Prevention (Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger ):

It has also  been stressed that we should follow in the steps of Imam Ali (pbuh)  at all times by considering  the needs of the orphans and furthermore all those who have hope in Allah and the day of resurrection, and who contemplate the reform of society should concern themselves with assisting the poor, women and the orphans.

 

Women Rights:

 

 Ayatollah Shirazi views  on Women's Rights.  Islam has made the muslim man as an equal to Muslim women. this tenet was in effect in islamic lands until the appearance of nationalisms and the geographical borders which were artificially created… It has also been mentioned and  cited in the wealth of books by the Shirazi family  that the rights of women can be linked to

 

these Quranic verse:

 

… And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them according to what is equitable

Rights of Minors :
 

Ayatollah Shirazi views for minors is that it is necessary for adults  to protect the youth  from deviancy  in morals and values. Protection is incumbent  religiously as it states in the holy Quran

 Protect yourself and your family from the Fire  Chapter:   {66}   The Prohibtiion, Verse :  6

 

His Eminence also believes that there should always be a necessity and a thorough concern for minors and underage adults from parents relatives and society as a whole because without  direction for the  youth, harm  and corruption will not only strike the children but will become general amongst their family and community.  To further elaborate on the phrase “protection of the minors” it does not mean simply advice and guidance, but as well  it means making them feel part of a  healthy  environment and preparing them for the means of obtaining work through economic independence  and making a living, foregoing links for them with a mosque,  school,  library or a religious community center, and marrying them to eligible mates when they become of age and seeking gainful employment for them.

 

Education (Achieve universal primary education) :

 

  Education is extremely important in the well being of a society, and in societies in which religion has strong roots in. The burden of hard work lies on the experts and their experience. Educating such experts is what ISF invests in. Our theological schools in more than five countries have educated men and women for over a century.  Ayatollah Shirazi also believes that mental growth is very important and results in the success of the people. Building good universities and staffing them with knowledgeable and experienced instructors has enabled ISF to develop a friendly atmosphere and environment for the growth of the knowledge of the students which guarantees their success in life. Islamic Laws are observed in all ISF sponsored universities.

 

Racism Reduction:

 

Ayatollah  Shirazi believes in equal rights for all skin colors and ethnicities in society and as previously mentioned,  Skin color, Ethnicity and background should never prevent one from practicing his rights, pursuing his individual freedoms and coexisting with others. His eminence lines himself with the Holy Prophet Muhammad [sawa] in terms of having an all inclusive community with a variety of backgrounds and nationalities.

 

Gender Equality (Promote gender equality and empower women) :

 

Ayatollah Shirazi  believes we  should always in every circumstance observe and respect the boundaries of  women and places women in a very high position in society. One of the most important positions  of women is the mother of the children and our future generations and  the first teacher of the child. Women should also always  freely pursue education and become role models for the future generations to follow in their footsteps  to strengthen families and general society.  It is also mentioned in the wealth of books from the Shirazi family that it's extremely  important to  maintain an atmosphere in the household where no one party forces the other to work in the house or for the house and that this can make the household peaceful and happy. This serves as a reminder that we must treat  Allah swt women with honor and respect and empower them at all times .
